As an Integrative therapist I can offer a range of modalities to work with your child, to suit their individual needs. These can also be combined:

Talking therapies
Whilst I am an advocate for working creatively, some young people do not find this suits them, and prefer to just talk. I am trained in different approaches to talking therapy including Humanistic, Existential and Psychodynamic work. I am also able to offer psycho-education to young people to empower them to understand how the mind and body work.

Creative therapies
Arts-based work is fantastic for tapping into feelings that may be difficult to put into words or rationalise. So much of our experience is non-verbal, including traumatic memory. I use drawing, painting, clay, expressive movement, drama and music to support creative expression and discovery.
Play-based therapies
Younger children explore and communicate their inner worlds through play. I use play-based approaches to connect to children's experiences within metaphor and play, using resources such as the sand tray and puppets.

Parent support consultations and dyadic work
I understand how important it is for parents to feel that they are alongside their child in the therapy journey. Whilst respecting your child's confidentiality, I offer a non-judgemental space to understand your experience as a parent and help you to support your child and yourself.
In dyadic work, I work with both parent/carer and child in the room. This work is particularly helpful if an attachment bond has been impacted by trauma, illness or adversity. I work with you to find ways to emotionally connect using guided activities and play, fostering a repair of the attachment experience.
